On 22 May 2010, a developer named Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas. It was the first time anyone used digital money to buy something you can eat. We now call that day Bitcoin Pizza Day.
Sixteen years later, the blockchains are faster, the fees are tiny, and 10,000 BTC would buy far more pizza than anyone could eat in a lifetime. One thing has not changed: crypto only works because of the people behind it.
What is Bitcoin Pizza Day?
It is the anniversary of that first real-world purchase. Two pizzas, paid for in Bitcoin, by someone who wanted to prove the network could move value. It is now an unofficial holiday for everyone who uses, builds, or believes in crypto.
Meet Aryze
Aryze builds infrastructure for money movement. Not the front end — not the brand, not the licence, not the consumer app. The layer underneath all of that: the rails that carry the value, the settlement that makes it final, the compliance hooks that keep it auditable. We work with the people who want to move money properly — merchants who would rather not run every payment through a card network, builders launching stablecoins, banks and institutions that need digital cash operating under their own licence. The customer keeps the licence. The customer keeps the brand. We provide the rails behind them. It is unglamorous work. Infrastructure usually is. But it is the part that decides whether a stablecoin is a curiosity or a payment rail — and on Pizza Day, that is worth celebrating.
Why Pizza?
Pizza is shared. Everyone makes it a little differently — different base, different toppings, different oven — but it is recognisable from across the room. That is the part we like. So this week, we are asking the community to bake a pizza shaped like the Aryze "A" logo, share the photo, and win a share of $100 in $RYZE.
Five winners. Twenty dollars each. Real ovens only.
How to Enter Online
Three things to do, in any order:
In Copenhagen? Come Bake With Us
If you are in Copenhagen on Friday 22 May 2026, come by Bredgade 3 from 17:00. We will have DIY pizza stations (Aryze-logo toppings encouraged), a short talk on stablecoins in 2026, and the usual mix of demos, networking and slices.
It’s free, but space is limited—save your seat here → Eventbrite.
Community Is Everything—And That Includes You
You have probably done at least one of these: helped a friend set up a wallet, pushed a late commit before a demo, or posted about a project you love. If so, you already know — people matter more than protocols.
So fire up the oven, shape the cleanest Aryze "A" you can, and join us online or in Copenhagen for Crypto Pizza Day 2026.
Bake the logo. Share the slice. Win $20 in $RYZE — five winners, one pot of $100.
See you on Friday — because community is everything, and you are part of ours.
